Every home we build has the following products standard:

30-Year Architectural Shingles

30-Year Architectural Shingles are made with 2 strips of asphalt that have been glued or “laminated” together, giving them more durability without the need for extra support (3-tab shingles consist of 3 individual asphalt tabs that are one foot wide).
​   *Guaranteed to last twice as long as standard 3-tab shingles
   *Higher wind resistance - can withstand wind speeds up to 130 mph
   *More durable than other alternatives
   *Increases the value of your homes
   *Lower total cost over time

 

Synthetic Underlayment

Synthetic Underlayment is what lies between the shingles and roof sheathing, or roof deck, which is TechShield decking on a Kendall Home. It is installed directly on the roof deck and provides a secondary layer of protection from the elements.
​   *Extremely durable
   *Made from long-lasting polymers which provides strength and longevity
   *Tough, lighter, faster to install, and is safe (resistant to mold growth)
   *Moisture resistant - Up to 90 days of exposure (felt products tend to absorb water)
   

James Hardie Siding

James Hardie siding is a fiber cement siding option composed of cement, sand and cellulose fibers.
​   *Moisture and rot resistant 
   *5 times thicker than vinyl siding products
   *Resists damage from wind, rain, freezing temperatures, and hail
   *Fire protection - non-combustable and will not ignite when exposed to a direct flame nor contribute           fuel to a fire
   *Some insurance companies will offer a discount on coverage of homes that utilize James Hardie Siding
   * Insusceptible to pests

 

TechShield

TechShield is the original and leading radiant barrier sheathing. A radiant barrier is a layer of material generally on the underside of your roof deck, that acts as a shield to the radiant energy literally letting solar energy bounce off of your rooftop and back into the atmosphere.
​   *Blocks 97% of radiant energy
   *Summer time attic temperatures can be up to 30 degrees cooler
   *Allows your home to cool down faster
   *Utility savings of up to 17% (per the manufacturer)

 

Tech shield Decking | Kendall Homes

Rounded Sheetrock Corners

Apart from protecting your walls, drywall pieces have several other functions. Rounded drywall corners, for example, add to the functionality of the space and can make it look more stylish.
​   *Aesthetics - Rounded corner are known to update the aesthetics of your home which increases the             value of your home.
   *Uses plastic beads, which are larger and more stable
   *Durability - Less prone to chipping
   *Creates warm and inviting spaces

 

Wood Baseboards

Wood baseboards are known for being durable and long-lasting.They can easily withstand wear and tear from everyday activities like vacuuming or mopping. Wood is also less vulnerable than MDF when exposed to moisture, which means it is less likely to swell in bathrooms or kitchens where there is more humidity in the air.
​   *Offers greater durability for high traffic areas
   *Performs better in humid climates than MDF baseboard
   *Aesthetics - Improves the value of your home
   *Lower total cost over time

 

HardieBacker Board

HardieBacker board is a cement based product. It is used as a sub-material behind tile in wet areas like a shower or tub surround. There's a common misconception that cement board is totally waterproof because it is designed for wet areas, but it is not. While the boards themselves are water resistant, the seams, inside corners, edges and screws are vulnerable to water penetration. This means HardieBacker board needs waterproofing.
​   *Very dense and water resistant
   *Will not deteriorate when exposed to water
   *Stops moisture damage and mold from building up and growing behind your bath tile walls

RevWood Flooring

Flooring that combines the look and feel of hardwood with scratch-resistant, scuff-resistant and fade-resistant technology for long-lasting performance you can only get from RevWood.
